How do you decide which one to hire?

  • Uses professional equipment suitable for the job you need done.
    There is a difference between the audio equipment you have at home and the equipment a professional disc jockey uses. Professional audio equipment is built to go on the road day in and day out. Make sure your prospective DJ is using only professional equipment to insure the musical selections are audible to all your guests enjoyment.

  • Is registered and Insured.
    A DJ who has taken the time to register and insure their respective companies demonstrates that they are serious business people.

  • Can provide a written contract.
    We cannot begin to stress how important it is to get your booking confirmed in writing. All terms of the agreement should be in writing to avoid any complications at a later date.

  • Will be suitably dressed for the occasion.
    It is important that your entertainer looks the part by dressing in formal or semi-formal attire, your preference. Make sure to specify the type of apparel that your DJ should use. There should be no added fee charged for formal attire.

  • Is willing to discuss music selections ahead of time, and is willing to play requests, particularly if they are suitable for dancing.
    A professional DJ is aware that they cannot possibly know everything there is to know about music and entertainment, but is willing to listen to your ideas and input. They make themselves available prior to your function to discuss your ideas and input. Special requests should not be a problem and a professional DJ should be willing to listen to requests and play them where they think they are appropriate.

  • Knows the proper procedure and etiquette for your type of function.
    A professional DJ will become involved with the planning of your special function and will be prepared to handle any announcements or special events on the day of your event.

  • Will arrive on time.
    Punctuality is an ultimate necessity, and as a professional business people, CES members are aware of their responsibilities to their clients and facility managers. Time spent setting up and removing equipment is not usually part of the entertainment fee.

  • Can supply back up equipment or disc jockey in case of emergency.
    Even professional equipment can fail on occasion, so it is important to know whether your DJ has spare equipment available to them. Any number of circumstances may arise between the time you book your DJ and the date of the event. It is also important to know if the DJ has a back up plan in case of illness or accident.
